A Manga, manga mad weekend

Yosh! Went mad over the weekend on manga... more like anime... first off is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig. Yep, a mouth full, this here is a the 26 episodes on the second season. It talks about the future, where life between the digital and physical world has been blurred. The boundary of technology and humanity has been stretched beyond imagination with lives being led in both the electronic and physical worlds. With the melding of man and machine – a new cybernetic level of existence is being created - An existence that continues to redefine mankind. The series centers around an elite counter terrorist team called Section 9, lead by Mokoto Kusanagi. So, this is not your typical anime of fun loving, jokes or filled with cartoon cuteness. A very thought provoking series about our future and the application of technology in our lives.

Cowboy Bebop, a fun anime following Spike Spiegel, a bounty Hunter with a dark past, lives on bounty to bounty, barely making it each time, or not making it at all. His partners Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Ed and Ein the dog all help him in his adventures from planet to planet. A nice balance of jokes, tension, suspense and good dose of action. I had a VCD copies earlier but I'v donated that, so this here is the DVD upgrade!

ROD TV.... aka Read or Die... weird title. The story is about three girls named Anita, Michelle and Maggie are hired to protect Japanese author Nenene Sumiregawa during her stay in Hong Kong. In an incident where the "Paper Sisters" save Nenene from a disgruntled author, Nenene discovers that the sisters have the capability to control paper at their own will - an ability once used by her long-lost friend Yomiko "The Paper" Readman. Arriving in Japan after an airliner incident, the Paper Sisters move into Nenene's apartment and become her freeloading bodyguards.

Ghost Stories, about, well... kids and ghosts. When young Satsuki finds an old book of spells from her passed away mother, she gains the power to fight ghosts that are haunting her new school. With the help of her friends, and of a really wicked devil cat, she must protect everyone around her or be haunted for ever more. Looks to be hilarious.... funny but scary.... hehehe, keep the light on!

Ah! My Goddess!, Keiichi Morisato is looking forward to university life. One day, Keiichi is stuck watching the dorm while his sempai are away, and has a mountain of chores to do to boot. But Keiichi is a good-natured person, and is set about doing his duties. As he is about to finish his final chore, he makes a phone call to his sempai. But the words that came through the receiver are, 'Goddess Help Line.' Shortly afterwards, a beautiful goddess named Belldandy appears in front of him from the mirror of his room. All anime series above was brought at Anime Tech, Mid-Valley branch. Arigato gozaimashita!
