With Love.....email accidents, sushi, universal karma and such

Boy oh boy, I am a not big fan of soap operas, mainly cause it is too repeatative in the plots, shallow characters, the soap world is micro and once you've figure out the plot before they show you then where's the fun.....and things can get mushy, real mushy...all wet and slimy, you know. THEN, I came across this...With Love, a japanese drama sometime back, by accident....must be on holiday and got bore ... switch to RTM2 and got hooked, really hooked by this lil sushi soap box series.

Stars Takenouchi Yutaka, Tanaka Misato & Fujiwara Norika. It all started when Hasegawa Takashi (Takenouchi), a talented composer who could not write a love song ever since his girlfriend Rina left him suddenly, accidentally sent an uncompleted piece of his latest work to Murakami Amane (Tanaka) via email. Deeply touched by his music, Amane wrote back to him, without getting a reply. Amane continued writing to him, pouring out her thoughts.

Only when she signed as "Teru Teru Bozu", did Takashi responded with a mail saying "WHO ARE YOU?", because what Rina left him as a farewell gift was a teru teru bozu! Takashi(Takenouchi) and Amane (Tanaka) meet each other numerous times in person but don't know that they are also e-mail buddies. "With Love" is a love story based on their relationship by e-mail and in real life. Will they ever know each other's true identity....this is love tension, how cool...ahhh memories of first summer..errr...ok then.....

It's a 1998 series with 12 episodes....kinda short but sweet ... someone even wrote a summary for each episode, With Love Synopses, thx Shuji! Other good nippon go drama includes GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka), Long Vacation, Gift, Kenshui Nanako....and now Gokusen...been looking for the DVD...so, it was a surprisingly pleasent experience.
