Govt announces steps to ease the public's burden
PETALING JAYA: The Government has announced four steps to ease the public’s burden brought on by escalating prices of consumer goods. The steps, which were announced through a statement by the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday, are:
- NOT to increase the price of fuel until the end of this year.
- REDUCING the road tax by as much as 80% depending on engine capacity and type of use.
- DEFERING any toll increase for this and next year.
- INCREASING aid distributed by the Social Welfare Department to senior citizens, disadvantaged children and the poor.

Thanks Mr. PM for giving us little folks a break for now. It is encouraging that the gov't do take steps to ease sufferings of the average joe. I hope that the next fuel hike will not be too much that it will off-set any benefits we are having now with the new measures.
